The 2025 Eurocup-3 season has come to an end. It was an extremely successful one for Kacper Sztuka! The Polish driver ultimately finished third in the overall standings, thanks in part to his excellent results on the Barcelona track!
The drivers flew to Barcelona at the beginning of the week. From Wednesday to Friday, they were able to test new settings and get back into the swing of things after a long break. The previous round took place in the second half of September. The first competitive session took place on Saturday. The competitors competed in qualifying. Kacper finished with the fourth fastest time, but despite this, he started the first race from pole position.
This was all due to penalties imposed on his rivals. Jesse Carrasquedo Jr. was the fastest, but after a penalty imposed on him in Jerez, he was moved back five places on the grid. Valerio Rinicelli and Enzo Tarnvanichkul had their best times cancelled because they broke the track limits.
Kacper did not relinquish the lead from start to finish! His excellent pace meant that he finished almost 5 seconds ahead of Rinicella, who came second, even though the safety car had left the track just a few minutes earlier. In addition, he set the fastest lap time. “I led from start to finish, which was very comfortable. We had very good pace and it’s safe to say that we dominated this race. Together with the team, we did a great job over the last few days and throughout the season. We worked on the car and our driving. We managed to take advantage of that. I am very grateful to everyone who contributed to this – my family, sponsors, and the entire team,” said Kacper.
What didn’t work out on Saturday worked out on Sunday. Kacper’s morning qualifying session was once again excellent. This time he took second place, narrowly losing to Mattia Colnaghi. The first row in the second race, combined with Campos Racing’s good pace throughout the weekend, allowed us to calmly think about the podium and even a win. In the end, Kacper crossed the finish line in second place, also setting the fastest lap.
“A great end to the weekend in Jerez! We are on the second step of the podium after a good fight in the second race. An excellent weekend, very good pace. We still have one more round ahead of us. We are fighting for the runner-up spot, so we are moving on! I would like to thank my sponsors, thanks to whom I can fight for the highest goals – the Orlen Group and the Motorsport Academy, Extral Aluminium, the Polish Rock Mining Group and DL Logistics. See you on the track in Barcelona,” concluded Kacper.
Now the drivers have a longer break ahead of them. The last round of this Eurocup-3 season is scheduled for 14-16 November.
The final day of competition in the 2025 season began with qualifying. Overnight rainfall in Barcelona meant that drivers were forced to put on wet tyres. Kacper finished the time trial in 6th place. The positions occupied by Rinicella and Ernesto Rivera were important in the context of the fight for the vice-championship and TOP3. Saturday’s victory meant that Kacper jumped to 3rd place in the overall standings. The Italian, who was 15 points ahead of the Pole before the last race, was 4th, and the Mexican, who was 12 points ahead, was 10th.
The race went according to plan for the Pole from the start. He moved up to 5th place in the first corner. After neutralisation and the safety car came out, he moved up another place. The battle for the podium with Carrasquedo was extremely fierce. Kacper pushed hard and at one point drew level with the Mexican, but the latter did not leave him much room to squeeze in front of his car. Ultimately, the Polish driver finished the last race of the season just off the podium.
“A very good end to the season in Barcelona! I maintained the right pace from start to finish, which secured us third place in the overall standings. I take it with pride! It was a great season! We didn’t manage to win, but we showed ourselves in a good light, so I’m returning to Poland with a smile on my face. I would like to thank my sponsors, thanks to whom the fight for wins and podiums was possible this season,” concluded the Polish driver.
